Cute Hedgehog Card

Hello. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am excited to share another card with you that I created as a design team member for the Createful Heart Design. This is my January 2020 card using the digital image "Ahhhhh, Spa" which can be found here: https://createful-heart-design.zibbet.com/ahhhhh-spa-digital-file

To create this card I sized the image to fit on an A2 card and I printed the image with my ink jet printer. I used a variety of types of markers to color the image including Copic Sketch Markers, Style File Alcohol Markers,  Japanese Fude Drawing Pens, Jelly Roll pens, and fine tip Sharpie markers. It was lots of fun to color in this cute image! I used glossy accents over the water in the tub as we all the water on the floor. I die cut some cute bows in pink and purple and the word "beYOUtiful."  I created a shadow or background the the die cut word to rest on.  That background die is in a pretty purple glitter card stock.  I enjoyed putting the finishing touches on the card with patterned paper and gems.

This is my fifth month as a member of the Design Team for  Createful Heart Design, a digital stamp and digital paper company. The owners of Createful Heart Design, Mary, and her husband Mark draw all the digital stamps by hand and Mary designs the digital papers on her computer. It is exciting to be a part of this design team and I hope that you will check out their online store. Here is a link to the online shop:

Multi-layer stamp- Trees and Happy Birthday Balloons

Hello. Thank you for visiting my blog. I enjoy making cards with layering stamps.  Today I made a one layer, clean and simple Birthday Card for a friend of mine who loves nature. The set is "Snowy Pine Trees" from Kitchen Sink Stamps:

https://www.kitchensinkstamps.com/shop/snowy-pine-tree-clear-layer.html

I used Memento Ink in a variety of green colors to stamp both the small and the large cluster of trees:
Layer #1: New Sprout
Layer #2: Bamboo Leaves
Layer #3: Cottage Ivy

I used the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the "Make a Big Sentiment" stamp set. I also added two clusters of balloons. I colored the balloons in with fine tip makers.

Winter Scene Shaker Card |Not 2 Shabby Snowball Fight

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my blog. Today I am pleased to share my first project as part of the Not 2 Shabby Design Team. Not 2 Shabby (N2S) is an online stamp and paper crafts store. They offer their own line of photo-polymer (clear rubber) stamps, as well as products from other companies such as Sunny Studios, Penny Black, Whimsy Stamp and many more. Jamie, the owner at N2S, grew the design team to 15 artists and I am honored to say that I was selected. There is a link below to a discount code for the N2S Shop.

A video of my project is located on my You Tube Channel: https://youtu.be/y_m-gRhye1A

For my first DT project I chose to make a shaker card using the Not2Shabby Stamp Set "Snowball Fight."

I stamped the snowman, boy and girl and colored them using Copic Markers.
I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut the images out.

I also used a tree from the Not 2 Shabby stamp set "Magical Winter." I stamped it three times and colored it with copic markers. Then I fussy cut them out with my scissors.

Using glitter card stock I made a snow bank. I made a second snow bank on white card stock. I put light blue ink along the edge of the second snow bank (for snow).

I used a piece of light blue card stock and stamped multiple snow flakes with blue ink on the card stock. The snow flakes are from the Magical Winter Stamp from Not 2 Shabby.

Using glitter stock, I cut out a 4x5 frame. I also cut out a piece of acetate and three fun foam frames. I layered the fun foam frames on top of each other and secured them using double sided tape.   Then I adhered the glitter card stock to the pieces of fun foam.

I used the sentiment from the stamp pack.  This sentiment "Snow Day" has been stamped with blue ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then cut the sentiment out with a rounded corner square die.

Here's a look at some of the pieces I colored and cut out, as well as the snow banks:

Crafter's Castle Design Team

Hello! I am excited to announce I have been selected to be a member of the Design Team for the Crafter's Castle Challenge Blog and today is my first post for the Crafter's Castle. For my project, I used the Soda Fountain Shoppe Bundle Digital Kit by our sponsor, Taylor Made Cards, to create a sweet journal! Here's a photo of the journal cover:

The Crafter's Castle Challenge Blog is open to everyone (USA and Internationally) and is open to all crafts and all skill levels. There is a monthly prize sponsored by Taylormadecards4u.com so be sure to check out the link below to the blog and be sure to enter your project.

I created a video of my journal and you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/G98loxdx1lI

To create the base of my journal, I started with an old cereal box. I used the up-cycled cardboard to create the front and back covers. I wrapped the cereal box covers with some of the paper from the kit, printed out on 110 pound card stock. I firmly secured the paper in place using strong double sided tape. My panels measured 8.5" x 5.5". I also used some of the cereal box to create a 1" spine for the booklet. I connected the two panels to the spine using packing tape (brown paper tape).

I printed three signatures (sections) for my journal.  Each signature featured pattern paper from the kit, as well as journal pages from the kit.  Each Signature has five pages of 8.5" x 5.5" paper printed on both sides. I used regular printer paper, the type that is 65 pounds in weight to print all the pages in the signatures.

The above left is the inside of the front cover. I used paper from the kit to design journal pocket and I tucked in some goodies from the kit into the pockets.  The above right is the journal paper that is in the kit.

More examples of some of the items that are included in the kit.

My journal features some mini envelopes and several multi-step journal pockets.

There's lots of great ephemera in the kit

The Soda Fountain Shoppe Bundle Digital Kit includes:
  • 6 Sheets 8.5" x 11"
  • 5 Journal Pages
  • 2 - 5" x 7" Sheets
  • 4 - 4.25" x 5.5" Sheets
  • Library Card Sheet
  • 10 Ephemera Pieces
You can find the bundle kit here:
