Foil Cards #4 & #5

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my blog.  This is part two of the Foiled Christmas Cards. For this card, I used Creative Vision Foil in Ruby Slippers for the sentiment and the background panel. The sentiment is from Creative Vision Stamps Banner Sentiments (Holiday).  The panel is from a previous Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box.  I put a green bow on the panel, along with a green rhinestone accent and adhered everything to a red card panel.

My final foiled card (for my blog) has a bold geometric back ground.  This back ground is a panel from Brutus Monroe. I used Creative Vision Stamps Ruby Slippers heat transfer foil. I used the same on the sentiment from Creative Vision Stamps (Banner Sentiments).  I then adhere four glittery Christmas Tree stickers above the sentiment. These sticker are from the Dollar Tree! I think they really pop on this card and add some texture!

Foiled Christmas Cards #1 - #3

Hello. Thank you for visiting my blog.  Hope you are ready for Christmas! It's only three days away! I am still working on Christmas Cards (they are going to be late this year) and many of them I made using heat transfer foil.  I am going to show you three cards that I made using foil products from various companies to create these cards.

Card #1 Reindeer

This cute reindeer came from a pack of die cuts that I purchased at a big box craft store. The sentiment is from Creative Vision Stamps. It is from the Foilable Toner Banner set: Holiday Sentiments. For the sentiment, I used  gold  transfer sheets from Deco-Foil: https://www.brutusmonroe.com/products/deco-foil-transfer-sheets-gold

I used a foilable toner panel that came from a past Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box.  The background was printed with toner, so the foil adheres to the toner when I layer a piece of foil over it and send it through my laminator. For the foil on this panel, I used Brutus Monroe Sunrise Foil Transfer Sheets:  https://www.brutusmonroe.com/collections/deco-foil-collection/products/deco-foil-by-brutus-monroe-6-x-12-sheets-sunrise

To finish the card, I adhered the panel to a red card base. I used foam squares on the reindeer to pop it up off the base of the card and adhered the reindeer and the sentiment to the panel

Card #2 Merry Christmas with Gold Poinsettia accent:

To make this card, I used a Brutus Monroe Foilable Panel (that came in an old Inspiration box). For the foil on this panel, I used Brutus Monroe Sunrise Foil Transfer Sheets:  https://www.brutusmonroe.com/collections/deco-foil-collection/products/deco-foil-by-brutus-monroe-6-x-12-sheets-sunrise

I adhered a gold poinsettia flower to the card panel.  The flower came from a pack of 12 from a big box store. To finish the card, I adhered the panel to a red card base. I used foam squares on the reindeer to pop it up off the base of the card and adhered the reindeer and the sentiment to the panel.

Card #3 Santa
This Jolly Old St. Nick die cut ephemera came from a pack of die cuts that I purchased at a big box craft store.  I used Creative Vision Stamps heat transfer foil in Ruby Slippers to foil the background panel: http://www.creativevisionstamps.com/transfer-foil-ruby-slippers/

The background panel is another Brutus Monroe toner panel that was in a past inspiration box.  The sentiment "HO HO HO" is from Creative Vision Stamps and I used the Ruby Slippers from Creative Vision Stamps on the sentiment.
The foil from Creative Vision Stamps is so highly reflective that was challenging to take a good photo of this cute card.
I used my Crop-a-Dile Corner Chomper to round the corners on the panel. I adhered everything to grey card stock. I think this card is super cute!

Checking it Twice | Createful Heart Design

Hello, thank you for stopping by my blog. Today I have a cute card featuring Santa who has his pen in his hand because he's making his list and checking it twice!  The sentiment says "Santa, define good!"

To create this card, I printed the image "Checking It Twice" on my ink jet printer. The image can be purchased at Createful Heart Design here:

For Santa's hair and beard, I used a light gray alcohol marker and just outlined the beard, mustache, eye brows, hair lines, etc. This provided some contrast. I then colored in the beard, hair, eye brows, mustache and the fur trim on Santa's wrists with a white Jelly Roll pen.

For Santa's face I used flesh toned alcohol markers. I used the same for his hands. I colored his eyes with a blue jelly roll pen and his glasses with a gold gel pen. I used a brown jelly roll pen for his pen and a silver glitter jelly roll pen for the tip of the pen.  Then I used a red alcohol ink marker to fill in around his wrist and  chest (to give it the look of his red suit).

I stamped the sentiment "Santa, define good!" using red pigment ink and then I sprinkled it with festive embossing powder. The embossing powder is red with gold glitter.

I adhered Santa and the sentiment to red glitter stock paper. I then embellished the card with candy canes, a foiled tree, and the north pole post mark (this was a tag but I trimmed it down). Finally, I adhered the glitter stock to a piece of patterned paper.  This is a 6"x6" card.

This is my fourth month as a member of the Design Team for  Createful Heart Design, a digital stamp and digital paper company. The owners of Createful Heart Design, Mary, and her husband Mark draw all the digital stamps by hand and Mary designs the digital papers on her computer. It is exciting to be a part of this design team and I hope that you will check out their online store. Here is a link to the online shop:

Thankful Card

Hello. Welcome to my blog. Thank you for stopping by.

Today I made another card for a few Challenge Blogs.

To make my card frame I used Craft Cardstock to cut a die with a Gina Marie Designs wonky rectangle die.  I used a Shaker Card pouch from Brutus Monroe. I filled the pouch with gold glitter, gold sequins, a few yellow gems and gold glitter balls. I lined the back of the rectangle die with foam tape to give the shape some dimension and stuck the shaker pouch to the tape, thus creating the window of the shaker card.

Using Versa Fine Claire Ink in "Summertime" (orange), I stamped and die cut the work "Thankful" using a Stamp and Die from May May Made It. I used double sided tape to adhere the sentiment to the bottom of the shaker window. I added a 3D butterfly to the top right corner. I used Brutus Monroe glitter card stock in Copper to cut an oak leaf die then added that leaf to the top left corner of the shaker window. Finally, I adhered the shaker window to a cream colored card base.

Using the Brutus Monroe shaker pouch really saved alot of time for me.  This is only the third shaker card I have ever made but I am starting to like them more and more.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and please subscribe/follow me on social media. When I reach 500 viewers in my You Tube channel I am giving away loads of prizes!

Mod Squad Challenge | Thanks & snow flakes

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my Blog.  Today's card is all about snow flakes ad thanks. I created this card for the Mod Squad Challenge card making contest.  The Mod Squad Challenge is a weekly blog that offers great prizes (electronic gift cards to stamp companies).  This week the sponsor is Stamplorations and the cards must include the sentiment "Thanks" or "Thankful."

I created my card using a cut and emboss folder. The folder features a tree with a window. I used white cardstock to cut and emboss. Then I built my shaker window with acetate. I filled the shaker window with iridescent glitter bits/snow. I decorated the card panel with die cut snow flakes in various shades of blue, including glitter blue card stock. Then I adhered the panel to a navy blue card base, thus creating the dark blue background that helps the iridescent "snow" in the shaker window to pop.  Then I die cut the word "Thanks" out silver mirror card stock.

I am super pleased with how this quick card came together. It's so pretty and sparkly!

Upcycled Christmas Card | #WFC Week 3

Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog. Today I am part of the Winter Fun Collab hop on You Tube. This is actually week three of the hop. Each week was a different project. Week One was Christmas Cards, Week Two was shaker cards.  This week is freestyle. This means anything goes. I created two cards out of one recycled card from last year.

Here are the two cards that I made:

This is the card before :

I used a circle die to cut out the main image. I also cut out about 15 circles the same size. I glued them together and adhered the imagine on top. This created the dimension for the first card.

On the left is the first card - the one that features the bird perched on a pine branch. I used a Brutus Monroe background die called Flourish cut out of white glitter card stock.  I adhered the die to green card stock cut using permanent double-sided adhesive. I selected a sentiment from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree stamp set and I heat embossed it using Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the top of the card.
The second card is on the right. I used the layering Evergreen Trees from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees stamp set. I used Versafine Claire ink in Rainforest and Verdant to stamp the trees onto white glitter stock. I then placed the recycled card on top of that. It matched well because the card has snow, glitter and evergreens. I used the same Merry Christmas sentiment that I used in my first card.

ChristmasTree Farm(Transportation 11.18.19 ModSquadChallenge)

Hello again my friends! I am back with another entry into the Mod Squad Challenge.  The theme this week is "Transportation" and I made this cute card of a Christmas Tree Farm scene.

If you are not familiar with the Mod Squad Challenge here's the link:
http://modsquadchallenge.com/
Each week they host card making challenges with great prizes!  This week the host of the challenge is the famous You Tube crafter Nancy Stamps!  Nancy's card featured a blue pick up truck.  Nancy is giving away a $25 gift certificate to Kitchen Sink Stamps!

Here's my card recipe and some close ups of the card elements:
1. Unity Stamp "Christmas Tree Farm" from the Oct.18 KOM Club "All Winter Long." I used VersaFine Claire Nocturne ink to stamp the image. I then heat embossed the image with Brutus Monroe Raven embossing powder. The paper I used to stamp on is the new Brutus Monroe White Washed colored card stock.

2. I colored the vehicle in with the following colors Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments: Red, Green, Frosted Cranberry, Iced Holly, Tinsel Blue, Shimmering Gingerbread and for gray I used surface spray in sidewalk.

3. Next I used the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Evergreen stamp set to stamp out several different trees at varying heights onto a piece of Brutus Monroe White wash cardstock. I stamped them using VersaFine Claire Rain forest Ink. I then heat embossed the trees with Brutus Monroe fine embossing powder in the color Wicked.

4. I used a Marvy Snow Marker to add some snow to the Evergreen trees.

5. I stamped a bird from the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps "Birds 2" set.

6. I fussy cut the vehicle and used foam tape to adhere it to the Evergreen panel.

7. I die cut the sentiment "Christmas Blessings" using Brutus Monroe Glitter Cardstock.  The die cut is from HSN.

8. Finally, I adhered the sentiment to a piece of black card stock (I used a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamps) and then I adhered all everything to a piece of 6"x 6" Brutus Monroe Specialty Paper in Buffalo Plaid.

I really enjoyed making this card and staging the photo for my Instagram Page.

Createful Heart Design | Country Girls Christmas | November 2019

Hello, thank you for stopping by my blog. This is my third month as a member of the Design Team for  Createful Heart Design, a digital stamp and digital paper company. The owners of Createful Heart Design, Mary, and her husband Mark draw all the digital stamps by hand and Mary designs the digital papers on her computer. It is exciting to be a part of this design team and I hope that you will check out their online store.  Here is a link to the online shop:
https://createful-heart-design.zibbet.com/shop

For November, I used the "Country Girls" Digital Stamp to create my project :

Country Girls Digital Stamp (set of 2)
My card is 5.5"x 5.5" I used alcohol markers to color the image. I printed the image of the Country Girl on my ink jet printer and fussy cut the image after I colored it. For her coat and hat I used a Red Berry Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. I just imaged this girl in her red winter coat and hat but I wanted the red to be bright and sparkle. The Spectrum Noir Red Berry Sparkle Pen worked out perfectly! I used a plaid background paper to line my card base. I also used two glitter holly berry accents and two larger poinsettia flowers to help make the card more appealing. I used cream colored card stock to accent the Country Girl and make her stand out from the plaid background. In the foreground you can see a die cut sentiment "Peace Love and Joy" using green card stock. That sentiment came from a holiday set featured on HSN last December.

Here are some additional photos of my card:

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2019/11/2019-fall-winter-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

This is my second card created for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I used a Sizzix Impresslits Embossing Folder to create this card.  The Pattern Paper with the Pumpkin Spice Latte is from Brutus Monroe. This is the first time I made a card with this Impresslit and I am happy with the outcome. I enjoyed making the "cardboard belly band" and the cream colored lid.  Hope you have some Pumpkin Spice Latte soon!  Have a hopeful day and thank you for visiting my blog.

Big Sentiment | ModSquadChallenge

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am so excited to share this beautiful sentiment card that I submitted to the Mod Squad Challenge. What?? You've never heard of the Mod Squad Challenge??  You need to check it out! Each week there is a new stamp company that sponsors the challenge. They offer awesome prizes from great stamp companies! This time the winner will receive a gift from Gina K Designs! I have placed in top three a few times with cards that I have submitted. I even won once!  It's so much fun to join in the Mod Squad Challenge and I can't encourage you enough to give it a whirl!  Here's the link:

For my card, I used a large Sheena sentiment die "Dream." The die also has a background/shadow that really helps the sentiment stand out. But first, I created the background panel using an embossing folder from Brutus Monroe. I used Brutus Monroe Surface Inks in a rainbow of colors to blend a colorful background. Isn't the background incredible? I love the boldness of the colorful background and the huge sentiment die. I also added some sequins in turquoise and purple. I picked a turquoise card stock for the final pop of color.

I hope you like my "Dream" card and that you will follow my Social Media:

Spooky Scene with Moon

Hello. Thank you for stopping by my blog. This card is for the Mod Squad Challenge Blog:

I created this card using the Special Limited Edition Trick or Treat stamp set from Brutus Monroe.   This stamp was included in the 2019 Special Edition Halloween Box.  The tombstones and the owl are both stamps from the set.  The tree is a die cut from the same box. the bats and the ghost are from other die cuts that I've collected. I used pan pastels to make the clouds and the moon in the background of this card.

If you are not familiar with the Mod Squad challenge I would encourage you to check it out. Each week they have awesome prizes from great companies. This week the prize is a $25 gift card from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Happy Haunting!

This card is also entered into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge:

Big Moon

badge-top3
Hello everyone! There is a Harvest/Hunter Moon this weekend. When the moon is full this weekend it is going to look larger than normal. The looming moon on the horizon is actually an illusion of the moon being larger than normal. I do not understand the science behind this phenomenon, but I love seeing the moon so large. I took some photos of the moon tonight with my SLR camera. I was lucky enough to capture one photo with a clear view of the the mountains and craters on the moon!

This card design also coincides with the theme of the Mod Squad Challenge this week.  The theme is the moon, so we are encouraged to make a project featuring the moon.

modsquadchallenge.com/harvest-moon/

If you are not familiar with the Mod Squad Challenge I would highly encourage you to check it out. Each week they feature a prize from a different stamp company. The prizes are usually electronic gift cards that can be used at online stamp companies. For example this week the prize is a $25.00 gift certificate to Kitchen Sink Stamps!!

To create this card I used the Brutus Monroe All Hallow's Even Stamp Set.  This stamp set was a limited edition stamp set included in the 2018 special limited edition Halloween Inspiration Box/Card Kit.  I love these little kiddos.  They are all dressed up for Trick or Treating!  I used the die that was included in the 2019 Brutus Monroe Halloween Special Edition box.  I also used some dies from other companies to die cut the bats and the ghosts.  This card was alot of fun to create. I hope you enojoyed this post and have a hopeful day!

#31 Days of Halloween Spooktacular Video Hop

Hello. Thank you for stopping by my blog.  September and October have been very busy for me in regards to video blog hops. I was excited to be invited to participate in a fun video hop with a Halloween theme. On October 11th I was featured as the designer of the day for the  #31Days of Halloween Spooktacular Video Hop! Here's the video that I recorded with instructions on how I made this card:  https://youtu.be/ZC9HgOB2w-c

I used the Brutus Monroe All Hallow's Eve Stamp Set to color three cute trick or treaters. They are all children, little girls, one dressed as a mummy, one as a witch and one as a vampire. These cute trick or treaters are featured with a tree in the background and the big moon. I also added some bats and ghosts to the card.  I created the background of the card using pan pastels and a masked circle for the moon. I colored the moon in with yellow and orange pan pastels. I used dies to cut out the sentiments with neon card stock from Brutus Monroe.

I hope you enjoyed this card and please check out the video hop. If you comment on each video (all 31) you will be entered in to win a Big Prize. Thank you to the fellow You Tubers who coordinated the hop, and thanks again for allowing me to be a part of the Video Hop.

Kitchen Sink Stamps: Bluebonnets Cards for a Charity Auction

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I would like to share with you some cards I made for a charity auction. Scrappykrafter recently requested support from fellow crafters in donating handmade cards for a charity that she supports. The auction is for the WonderWorks Children's Museum located in Oregon. Here is a link to their website:

I used the Bluebonnets multi-step stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I started by embossing my card panel using Gilded Oval embossing folder (a retired embossing folder from LDRS Creative). I stamped the flower using Paris Blue and Summer Sky inks (Memento).  Stems and leaves were stamped using Bamboo Leaves and New Sprout Inks (Memento). For the butterfly, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Rhubarb Stalk Memento and Potter's Clay by Memento.

This card is for the Mod Squad Challenge Blog: A Time For Giving because I am donating these cards. http://modsquadchallenge.com/a-time-for-giving/

The sentiment "Just for You" is from Crafter's Companion. I added a satin navy blue bow.

I made a You Tube video of how I created the cards:

Here is a link to the website for Kitchen Sink Stamps where you can find the Bluebonnet stamp set:

https://www.kitchensinkstamps.com/shop/bluebonnet-clear-stamp-layer.html

I made four cards in total. Here are some photos of the other card styles:
The "Get Well" sentiment is from Creative Expressions. I used a baby blue ribbon across the bottom of the card.
