Hello! Today is new release day for Technique Junkies. I have two new slimline cards that I created with several stamps from the new release. My first slimline card features the Slimline Band Border (#SL002), Rock Star Birthday Sentiments (#SL004), and from a previous release, Artistic Swipe (#SD1007).
As always, the new release stamps are on sale for 15% off through February 8, 2022. Save 10% on your other items with my code: TJ10Tracy techniquejunkies.com/slimline-band-border/
To create my card, I started with the Artistic Swipe stamp from a previous release. I trimmed a piece of Accent Opaque Cardstock 120 pound cardstock to 3.5" x 8.5" and stamped with a rainbow array of Catherine Pooler Inks. You can purchase Catherine Pooler Inks at Technique Junkies (use my code TJ10Tracy to save 10%). . For my card I used the following Catherine Pooler colors from left to right:
- Pucker Up
- Catching Rays
- In the Park
- Cummerbund
- Something Borrowed
I then stamped Slimline Band Border with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink over top the rainbow colored inks. I then stamped the sentiment "You're A Rockstar" from the Rock Star Birthday Sentiments with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink centered at the top. I then heat embossed the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the "You're a Rockstar" using Midnight Dream embossing powder. I ink blended the sentiment strip with Cummerbund Ink. I used stitched rectangle dies to trim both the stamped panel, and a mat layer. The mat layer is pearlescent black cardstock. I adhered everything to a white slimline card base.
My second slimline card features two new stamps: Slimline Candles (#SL003) and the sentiment Make A Wish which is from the Hooray sentiment stamp (#SDX207) from the new release.
To create the background for my card panel, I ink smooshed Catherine Pooler Inks in a rainbow variety of colors using a piece of watercolor cardstock. I built up the color intensity by drying the panel with my heat gun each time it became wet. After getting a colorful ink smooshed panel, I then stamped the Slimline Candles Stamp with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. Next, I heat embossed the Make A Wish sentiment from the Hooray sentiment stamp set with Midnight Dream embossing powder. I inked the mat layer behind the sentiment with Something Borrowed ink using the direct to paper method (dragging the inkpad directly over the paper). I finished by die cutting both the stamped panel and the mat layer using scalloped slimline stitched rectangle dies from my stash. The mat layer is black pearlescent cardstock. I adhered everything to a white slimline card base.
