March 2021 New Release - Technique Junkies Design Team

Hello! I am super excited to offer my very first post as a member of the Technique Junkies Design Team. These cards were created using the "To Ride A Horse" stamp set, part of the new release for March 2021. This set, as well as all of the stamps in the March 2021 new release, are 15% off through March 8, 2021. The "To Ride a Horse" stamp set reminded me of when I was a young girl, age 9 or 10, and the thing that I wanted the most in the world was a horse. I was horse crazy! I never got a horse, but still think they are beautiful creatures. I used a pink and blue color scheme for all of these cards because it reminded me of the 1980's when I was a pre-teen and horse crazy!

Check out my YouTube video where I demonstrate how I created each card:

Card # 1

For my first card, I used PanPastels to create pink and blue clouds in the background. To created the clouds I used the Cloud Edger Stencil from a Colorful Life Designs, available through Technique Junkies. I stamped the galloping horse from the stamp set twice, as well as the sentiment, directly on top of the PanPastel background. I then applied three pink die cut hearts (two solid and one hollow, using pop dots to adhere the two small hearts). I rounded the corners of the panel with a corner rounder. I used pink ink to apply a background stencil on a white card base (5.5' x 4.25'). The background stencil is Mosiac Hearts by a Colorful Life Designs. Technique Junkies offers a wide variety of stencils by a Colorful Life.
Card # 2

For my second card, I used PanPastels again to create a blended background with light blue at the top, light purple in the middle and light pink at the bottom. I stamped the galloping horse stamp and a sentiment on top of the PanPastel background. I used a jagged edge rectangle die from my stash to die cut the panel. For the mat layer, I used a piece of semi-gloss paper, a variety of Catherine Pooler inks and the Cloud Edger stencil from a Colorful Life Designs to create a dramatic cloud background. I used foam tape to adhere the stamped panel onto the cloud background panel, then adhered both layers to a black A2 card base (5.5' x 4.25").

Card # 3

For my third card I blended PanPastels (light pink, light blue, light purple) and stamped the horse and sentiment to the panel. I die cut the panel with a wonky stitched rectangle die from my stash. For the mat layer, I used craft card stock that I ran through a barn wood 3D embossing folder from my stash. I adhered the stamped panel on top of the barn wood mat using foam tape, then adhered both layers to a white A2 card base (5.5" x 4.25").
