Clean and Simple Lilac Just Breathe

The second card that I made for the Mod Squad Clean and Simple card Challenge uses a large sentiment from STAMPLORATIONS: "Just Breathe."  I love this sentiment because life can become super stressful and I need to remember to take a minute to "Just Breathe" and sometimes do some deep breathing techniques to deal with the stress.

I used various shades of pink and purple dye inks includeing "Lilac" which is listed as the spotlight color for this ModSquad challenge.  The inks are from Prima Marketing's Color Philosophy Collection.  These magnetic stacking ink pads save on space. No more hard to stack ink pads!

Behind the "just Breathe" sentiments you can see what looks like water color marks, but I used stamps from the Brutus Monroe set: "Abstract Art." I mounted the water color card panel (Canson Cold Press) on a card panel made from Aubergiene Card Stock from Brutus Monroe.

I made one more card in a similar style - but did not enter this card into the challenge:

Clean and Simple "Well Done"

Card Making Challenge

"The Mod Squad Challenge" at http://modsquadchallenge.com/

I made two cards for this week's challenge. The theme is "Clean and Simple (CAS)" cards.  The Well is a stamp from Stamplorations. I used black archival ink and Arteza Real Brush Markers to stamp and color this image. I like this image and hopefully there is enough "white space" to make this card clean and simple enough for the challenge this week. I used white water color paper (Canson Cold Press) and mounted the panel onto a red card base. Finally, I had a stamp set from Simon Says Stamps that included a small sentiment "Well Done" from the Uplifting Sentiments stamp set.  Love that the sentiment matches the stamp!

This is a wishing well so make a wish!

Watercolor background wash

I recently used what was in my stash to create several cards - using water color wash for the backgrounds.  These are clean and simple cards!

The water colors are Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments. I used turquoise, green, gold (metallic), and a  touch of orange.

The first stamp is from Simon Says Stamps (last year from Mandy's Flowers):

This tree stamp is from Stampin; Up Lovely As a Tree.  The sympathy sentiment came from Simon Says Stamps Sketched Flowers Stamp Set.

The trees in the stamp below are from Penny Black and the sentiment is from the Stamps of Life Stephanie Barnard

The Stamps Below come from a set that I purchased with a magazine.  The sentiments are from  Simon Says Stamps Sketched Flowers Stamp Set.

Two Graduation Cards

I made two "Milestone Cards" for the Mod Squad Challenge.   They are both graduation cards featuring Unity Stamps main images and Brutus Monroe and Unity Stamp background stamps.

The Link to the Mod Squad Challenge is here:

Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Night Time Stag

The first time I saw this stamp was when Nancy Stamps of You Tube did a video tutorial with it. I immediately fell in love with the stamp and with all stamps (especially the silhouette stamps) by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. I decided I would try to create a night time scene for my card.  I used regular distress inks. I used what colors I had in my stash (abandoned coral, seedless preserves, broken china and chipped sapphire) and I was really surprised by the results. Because they are regular distress inks the lines are visible, but I still like the way that it turned out. I used an open circle die cut for the moon in the top right hand corner. I used a glitter gel pen to dot the stars in the sky. Finally. I mounted the panel on purple and black card stock and secured it to red card base.

Believe in Angels

Combining products from Unity Stamp Company and from Brutus Monroe creates Heavenly Results!

Here I have combined the "Barndoor" background stamp from Unity and Brutus Monroe with the "Believe in Angels" stamp from Unity.

I used Hero Arts Ombre ink pads in various colors to stamp the Barndoor background stamp on white card stock.  This created a multicolored background pattern.

After I stamped the angel, I used Arteza Watercolor Pencils to color the angel image.

I

I used Brutus Monroe Neon Embossing Powder in blue and in pink to emboss the sentiment "It's Gonna Be OK" from a stamp set by Joy Clair.

I used sequins and flat back pearls to finish the cards.  I am pleased with the final product:

Neon Aquapigments (Water Colors) and MayMay Made it Showers of Blessings Stamp Set

I've always hoped for a stamp set featuring umbrellas and raindrops. I was super excited that the April 2019 Scripture Stamp Set from MayMayMadeIt.Com (a monthly subscription or you can purchase the stamps separately) featured these things and more! The stamp set (as shown here) has three separate ladies with their umbrellas and also two separate doggies (a weiner dog and a chihuahua).  There is a dog leash and these can be positioned so that any one of the ladies can be stamped walking her dog. There is even a cute puddle of rain.

The day that I received the stamp set is the same day that I received my Neon Aqua pigments from Brutus Monroe.  These water colors are highly pigmented and super bright.  Receiving them both on the same day got my imagination running.

When I went to bed that night all I could think about was neon raindrops painted on rainbow printed paper.  The idea stuck in my head and I couldn't wait to make the card that was pictured in my mind's eye, but I had a few other projects that I needed to complete first. I finally had the chance and this was what I came up with:

My card features one of the ladies holding her umbrella with with hand out. I embossed her using Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink. I also used 6x6 Rainbow Paper from the Brutus Monroe Rainbow Paper Pad. I used foam tape to adhere the card panel to the rainbow cardstock. I finished by gluing some embellishments on the card panel.

Here are are some more pictures from the stamp set:
