New Catherine Pooler Inks

Today Catherine Pooler released refreshed versions of three ink colors. The new colors: Minted, Oh Boy! and Sixteen Candles, are available next week here: https://shop.catherinepooler.com/?aff=111 in full-sized ink pad, ink refills and Minis.

I created a step by step video of how I created the card:

I used the Ocean Chums stamps set for my card. I used the new Minted and Oh Boy! Inks to create the background color. I dragged the ink across the panel and sprinkled the panel with water as Catherine Pooler Inks are water reactive. Sprinkling with water created some water marks or white marks.

To create my focal point images, I used The Rabbit Hole Designs “Cottontail Embossing Tool” to prepare a piece of  Hammermill Premium Color Copy Cover stock paper (100 lbs.)  I stamped the cute turtle and seahorse images with Versamark Watermark Ink. I embossed the images with Midnight Dream Wow Embossing Powder.

I used a Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Marker, N00 - Colorless Blender, to color the embossed images with the new ink colors: Oh Boy! Minted and Sixteen Candles. This is a favorite technique used by Catherine Pooler frequently in her live cardmaking on Facebook and YouTube. In addition to the Tombow blender marker, I also used Hero Arts Mini Watercolor brushes and Fantastix Brush Tip coloring tools to watercolor the images. I used minimal water to watercolor the images because my paper is not watercolor paper.

I cut the images out using my Brother Scan n Cut. There are also dies available through Catherine Pooler but I don't  have the dies for this stamp set. I set the Turtle and Sea Horse aside, then stamped the ocean floor background using images from the stamp set including coral, seaweed, bubbles, a school of fish, seashell and starfish. I used the new ink colors: Sixteen Candles, Minted and Oh Boy! to stamp the images. I also used Lime Rickey Ink from Catherine Pooler to stamp some of the images.
I trimmed the panel with my Deckle Timmer and, using a blending brush, applied a small amount of Oh Boy! ink to the edges of the panel. I grabbed an A2 card base and dragged the Oh Boy! ink along all four sides, creating a card base that matches the colors of ink in my panel.

I used foam tape to pop up the Seahorse and Turtle.
I also used a few Catherine Pooler Portsmouth sequins to finish my card.
